Overview
Capability.Co (CapCo) helps individuals realise their human capabilities to build fulfilling careers. The client wanted to envision a future-state experience that reimagines personal growth beyond traditional workforce models. Partnering closely with their team, we designed a dynamic concept prototype that brought this vision to life, showcasing how an intelligent, human-centred platform could unlock potential and guide people through meaningful self-discovery.

The Challenge
As the world of work evolves, adaptability and lifelong growth have become essential. CapCo’s 25 years of academic research emphasise realising one’s innate potential over matching predefined job descriptions.
Our challenge was to translate this ambitious philosophy into a tangible, emotionally engaging experience, one that embodies CapCo’s proposition and inspires both users and stakeholders to imagine what’s possible.

The Approach
1. Capturing the Essence
I contributed to extensive desktop research, document reviews, and stakeholder interviews to uncover CapCo’s aspirations, challenges, and current experience gaps. These insights informed a collaborative workshop, where I supported discussions to define CapCo’s essence and value proposition, clarifying its “why,” “what,” and “how.” This alignment laid the groundwork for envisioning the future experience.

2. Envisioning the Future Experience
With a shared vision established, our team facilitated an ideation workshop with the client team to explore what a “blue-sky” experience could look like for CapCo’s users.

I led the consolidation and creation of the future-state journey map, synthesising ideas into a structured, visual artefact. Given the large number of potential features, I focused on making the journey map clear and actionable by:

-
Structuring the flow by stages and steps
-
Pairing each feature with succinct descriptions and examples
-
Highlighting benefits to guide prioritisation discussions

I also facilitated a prioritisation session with stakeholders, which resulted in a focused, justified feature list that guided an efficient prototyping process.

3. Prototyping and Iteration
Leading and working with another UX designer and a visual designer, I helped bring the concept to life from wireframes to a high-fidelity interactive prototype.

My responsibilities included:

-
Co-owning UX and UI design decisions
-
Designing and animating interactions in Figma
-
Running regular internal and client feedback sessions to refine iterations collaboratively, ensuring the design remained fit for purpose and consistent

Our final high prototype featured Flo, an AI assistant that partners with users on their self-discovery and development journey, embodying CapCo’s vision of an intelligent and empathetic digital experience.

The Result
To present the concept, I developed a storyboard and narrative walkthrough that guided stakeholders through the experience from a user’s perspective. By weaving emotional storytelling with the interactive prototype, I helped the audience connect with the design on both a functional and human level.

The presentation received outstanding feedback, with stakeholders describing the project outcome as “beyond incredible” and “world-class work.”

Reflection
This project reinforced for me the power of storytelling as a design tool, not only in interfaces but also in bringing people on the journey.

It strengthened my ability to:

-
Translate abstract visions into clear, visual journeys
-
Facilitate stakeholder alignment through design artefacts
-
Balance conceptual ambition with practical, accessible execution

Above all, it reminded me how thoughtful interaction design and narrative can transform bold ideas into experiences that feel deeply human.
